Rochester Spotlight: Bobby Follett And Salena Ozzimo, Extreme Unboxing

Every Rochesterian knows that if they want to get a tremendous deal on an item for their home or a solid deal on a unique item, head up to Goods Galore on Spencerport Road in Rochester.

It's no question that you can find the deal you're looking for when you enter Good Galore and see the plethora of home goods, electronics, furnishings and SO much more that encase the store. The cherry on top? The staff is always friendly and you are always greeted by the owners, Bobby Follett And Salena Ozzimo.

Justin The Web Guy had the pleasure of conducting an interview with Bobby and Salena as they're featured on AE TV's Extreme Unboxing. The famous Rochester storefront is now on display for millions of people to see as Bobby and Salena unpack liquidated merchandise they've bought and fill the store with, while looking for unique items to attract customers with.

In one of the first episodes of Extreme Unboxing, you gave us a brief history of how you two came to be together and I find it to be a really fascinating love story! Can you share it again with our listeners?

"Bobby and I have lived within 10 minutes of each other our entire lives, whether it be here in Rochester or in California. We never connected until we both moved back here and I saw him on Match.com one evening. We were both single and in our early 30’s. I went to his house the next day and never left!"

When did you know you wanted to have a business of re-selling high quality items to people? How did your storefront in Rochester come to life?

"We knew we were on to something when we saw what a demand there was for these items! We sold out of our house for two weeks and then realized we needed a storefront for people to shop in instead of our garage."

You're featured on a show on A&E called Extreme Unboxing, where you're part of several personalities from across the country that buy liquidated merchandise for pennies on the dollar, and unbox it with hopes for big profits. What are some of your most memorable finds that have led to your success in this industry?

"Some products that really put us on the map were air fryers and instant pots! We literally have supplied all of Rochester with them! When they came out we sold 30 a week at 40% off retail and that really drew in a lot of people!"

My favorite episode is where Salena bought the bulk group of wedding dresses, much to Bobby's dismay. From an update I saw recently, none of the dresses have been sold yet. How do you take any bumps in the road, and turn them into motivation to keep persisting to succeed?

"The wedding dresses were definitely not our first loss! We don’t let those things gets us down. Sure it’s a bummer, but you don’t dwell on those things!"

What's been your favorite aspect about being featured on Extreme Unboxing? Has it allowed you to become closer to the Rochester community in any ways?

"We really love how the show has connected us to the community more. Lots of fans come in off the street just to check us out because we’re on TV. We love to see the support. We give our t-shirts to visitors and they love that!"

The season 1 finale is premiering on A&E this Tuesday at 10pm. Can you give us any hints as to what we may see from you both in the last episode this season?

"In the season finale this Tuesday your going see our best unboxings yet and my favorite item of all time. Even though I couldn’t keep them it was still exciting! And your also going to see the usually bickering that goes on between us!"

Your business in Rochester is called Goods Galore LLC Overstock. Can you fill us in on where people can visit you, and get in touch?

"Yes, our physical store is located at 475 Spencerport Road in Gates and our online Facebook group is called “Goods Galore Overstock Who Wants a Deal!” On this group page you can claim any item by simply saying sold and then come into the store to pick it up!"

What's the exciting promotion you're running on your Facebook group for all of your followers?

"We always love giving back to our community. This month we’re on track to hit 15,000 members in our group and 1k subscribers on YouTube. When that happens, we’re going to be giving away three prizes to three random winners!"

Anything else you'd like to mention about your success, that you'd like the Rochester community and beyond to know about.

"We couldn’t have of done any of this or gotten this far without the group that supports us. We thank them from the bottom of our heart!"
